WHEN TINNITUS AFFECTS YOUR LIFE
Tinnitus can take over your life. The actual sound itself but also the way it interrupts your sleep.
It can spike when you’re stressed, and your mind can just latch onto it and not let go.
You might seem to be managing it well on the outside; at work or when you’re with your family. But on the inside, it can feel exhausting.
I know this because I’ve experienced tinnitus myself.
While there’s currently no cure for tinnitus, the suffering you experience around it can change.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH TINNITUS
Hi, I'm Kate. Several years ago I found myself battling with persistent tinnitus, which made me feel frustrated every day and have a lot of sleepless nights.
As I sought treatments I also started using my mindfulness practices, which I personalised to how I was experiencing it. Desperately wanting it to stop, not being able to concentrate and it making me worry that I’ll never feel peace in my own body again.
My practices eased my symptoms but also enriched every aspect of my life. It’s difficult to practice mindfulness to ease suffering in one area and not have it positively effect another.
As a certified mindfulness teacher, registered with BAMBA and a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF), I use my personal insight and professional expertise to coaching my clients with tinnitus.
My approach is deeply influenced by my own experiences with tinnitus and TMJ, where mindfulness techniques played a really important role in being able to cope with and alleviate my symptoms.
I can help you if you find that tinnitus is interfering in your life too much. I’ll teach you the techniques that brought significant change to mine.
It’s not just about coping, this work will change your relationship with tinnitus so you can have your life back.
WHAT DOES THIS WORK LOOK LIKE?
Together we develop a customised plan to enhance your wellbeing and empower you to live with tinnitus with ease and grace.
We meet for 3 x 1 hour zoom calls per month for 3 months.
During this time we co-create bespoke toolkit for your specific goals and intentions using mindfulness.
The time we spend together is educational, motivating, inspiring, supportive and I hold you accountable to your commitments, with empathy of course. This work is meaningful and transformative, if you’re willing to feel a little discomfort on the journey. No personal growth happens without it.
I also send you additional resources like personally recorded meditations that support your specific intentions, book recommendations, podcast episodes, TED talks, papers or studies (if you’re interested in the science behind this work), articles and films.
This all builds a rich picture of how to apply mindfulness into your life for the changes you want to make - and keep!
If you’ve got this far and are reading this, then you are ready for the next chapter of your life.
To take charge, feel better and live the way you truly want to.
STRUCTURE & INVESTMENT
We begin with an initial session on Zoom. You’ll experience guided mindfulness techniques so you can feel the benefits immediately. These tools can be used in your life straight away.
Then if you’d like to continue, we work together for three months. You receive 9 x 60 minute sessions on Zoom which costs £450 per month.
Why three months?
Because it takes time for the brain to re-wire itself with different responses. Ones that don’t trigger the nervous system. These changes take practice and time.
During our work together you’ll learn:
Practical mindfulness tools you can use immediately to:
· Interrupt catastrophising thoughts
· Calm your system in the middle of the night so you can get back to sleep
· Reduce stress, frustration and irritability during the day
· Soften tension in the body (that contributes to increasing the volume)
After three months, it’s up to you. We can continue on a monthly basis, or you can have one or two sessions per month to keep up momentum and check in.
I’m here to guide you, every step of the way.
MORE CLIENT EXPERIENCES
After using these mindfulness techniques, my clients say they:
Feel less distressed by the sound
Sleep better
Spend less time worrying about it
Have more energy
Feel more in charge of themselves and their reaction to it
If tinnitus is affecting your sleep, mood or quality of life, you don’t have to manage it alone.
Book your first session and we’ll begin there.
Warmest,
Kate
