Turning Self Doubt into Self Belief

Self doubt tends to show up uninvited. Self doubt makes noise! But self belief on the other hand, leaves clues.

Here’s a simple practice that helps you gather those clues. Because belief in yourself isn’t something you either have or not. It’s built. From evidence, from awareness, and from intention.

I'm going to help you to uncover the proof that you already have and use it to create a personal practice to lean into when doubt tries to take over.

Step 1, Hunt for Evidence

We build self belief from evidence, from awareness, and from intention. Use these questions to journal to uncover your evidence.

🧠  Micro Evidence

1. What’s one challenge (big or small) that I’ve overcome in the last 6 months?
2. What are 3 things I’ve doneconsistentlyin my business or life that took effort or courage?
3. When have I shown up even when I didn’t feel “ready”?

💡  Evidence of Your Inner Strengths & Skills

4. What do people come to me for help with?
5. What compliments or feedback do I often brush off but might actually be true?
6. What have I created, built, or solved that didn’t previously exist?

💖  Evidence of Resilience

7. What’s something I thought I couldn’t handle… but did?
8. How have I grown in the last 1 – 3 years, even if it felt messy?
9. What does my younger selfwishshe knew I’m capable of now?

Step 2, Practical Action

Now you can turn your answers and insights into a regular practice that will shape new mental habits around self belief.

Write your Statement of belief from what you’ve uncovered. For example:

“I believe in my ability to figure things out because I have done it, time and time again.” or,

“I trust my voice in my business because others have trusted me to help, guide, or inspire them."

✨ Remember… Practice makes Presence

Step 3, When and How

⏰  Decide when you're going to use your statement, and how you're going to remember to practice it too! I like an old fashioned post-it or phone on my alarm.

I’d love to know how you get on with this. Drop me a line to share your experience, or feel free to ask me a question about the process.
